Useful Things

by crew - 10:10 on 25 April 2012

Some of the most useful things we have found whilst sailing have been inspired whilst shopping or by chatting to other yachties.  At present my most favourite and useful items are:

Kindle and Zinio App for my computer and smart phone tablet allowing us to receive all our magazines and books digitally - reduced storage too.

Wonderwash washing machine - a manual machine I first learned off in 1989 in south africa.  Bought off ebay and saves so much elbow grease!

Peg Octupus - a hanging circle of pegs which is wonderful for hanging the washing under to boom - especially the smalls and no risk of losing pegs or smalls overboard.

Thermopot cooker - great for stews, soups etc.  Slow cooking without the gas.

Induction hob - a single electric plate which we now use when plugged in to mains electric in the marina.  Saves our gas and heats and cools instantly - fantastic!

Everyone has their favourites on board and for some these items may be a waste of time but, for me, they make life a little easier and a little sweeter.
