rain, rain and more rain

by crew - 18:01 on 23 November 2012

November is almost over and we have certainly seen our fair share of rain.  At 660 metres above sea level we definately get more than those places closer to the sea. We are told that the Island has seen 3 years rainfall in as many days - at times we feel as if its all been in our garden!

The roads have been underwater, the garden submerged for days - both emerging with a new layer of muddiness on them.  Our pond developed a 3 feet high fountain due to the pressure behind the overflow pipe from the neighbours pond, which feeds ours.

This week we have had 3 days of beautiful weather with blue skies, sunshine and clean, clear air.  We have enjoyed them tremendously - even squeezing in a bike ride - especially as we hear that more high wind and rain is expected for this weekend.

Is this climate change? Or is it just that the 'never in our lifetime' is that the cyclic change is natural but outwith our recorded lifetime?

Something to think about!
